Northern Lights - Reign in Blood edition!
This heavy metal edition of the Bob Ross classic was done as a Christmas gift for a Slayer fan. Inspired by Slayer’s classic album “Reign in Blood” and of course the lyrics to the song “Raining Blood”
The blood dripping from the lacerated sky was a mixture of liquid clear, bright red, and alizarin crimson. Once dried it did have a texture that wasn’t as ideal as I hoped, so I may approach the effect differently if I do it again.
Even without the heavy metal elements, this one still shows off how great a all-red edition of this painting can look! Especially the mist at the base of the mountain.
