Evening at Sunset

TonyM 24 Nov 2022

11/11/22: Evening At Sunset #1 - s13e4

Only goal here was to create a sunset scene and try to include a cabin.

I finally took the plunge and added a cabin. It is incredibly ugly and I have nowhere to go but up in my cabin creation :) I am going to start creating more paintings with cabins/sheds/buildings. That is my next hill to climb.

I did not intend to have the 'wall of color' on the left hand side, and it does not look realistic, but I have to say, I absolutely love the color in the bottom row of bushes/shrubs. I hope I can recreate those effects in the future, I am not exactly sure how I created a couple of them as I was just kind of playing around and experimenting.

I labeled this painting as #1 as I intend to paint this one again soon.

16x20 canvas. Painting #59 in my awesomely fun Bob Ross experience. (fun fact: 25 of the 59 are original compositions, rest are mainly Bob Ross paintings). Never created a painting in my life before Feb 1, 2022. I am really enjoying the journey. As usual picture quality kinda sucks and the painting is much sharper when looking at it.. Still not good at photographing my paintings. I just can't seem to get the camera to focus correctly.

As always, constructive comments/feedback are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking, I appreciate you all.

Your sunset is beautiful. Your left side is actually very interesting in a very good way! Great evergreens. I am still struggling with my cabins a tons. Like Bob says, it’s with practice we get good. πŸ˜‰

I actually think this is a great effort, I love your sky and the cabin, in my opinion is very good, maybe just a little more shading on the right hand side would give it depth. the reflection in the stream mimics that orange glow in the sky perfectly. the tones in the grass are great and who's to say the left trees are not all in bloom. A very happy painting.
