Good Morning Jenb, that's an interesting question. I think the painting substrate, primer and different brands / quality of the oil paints can influence the result a little. Sometimes it gets lighter sometimes darker. The state of mind may affect your technique.. if the head is not free, this could block you and it is difficult to find concentration and thus has an indirect influence on the quality of painting itself. Otherwise, the drying process will always show what the result is in the end😎
