Arctic Beauty

Cronenberg89 08 Jun 2023

This is the first mountain that I have tried Bob’s “touching the canvas with the knife” method. It’s definitely different but I don’t know if I like it very much. I got a lot of glare in the photo and am posting one from the side to show the true colors. I retouched the lowlights on the mountains as the third picture shows. 16x20

Hey Brian, I prefer the other techniques in the mountains. I think they give them more life and details. Trying out this technique was certainly interesting 👍🏼overall, your painting looks very good . 🇩🇪🇺🇸

Thanks Dirk, I prefer the other techniques as well and almost scraped it off to redo. Maybe it’s right up someone else’s alley and they will take it off my hands! 👍🇺🇸🇩🇪

It’s nice. Always good to try new things

Thanks and so true!

Overall very pretty. Try again, you'll get the tapping trick.

Thank you Tomi!

I actually really like the effect that it gave to the mountains B! Super different. I's almost like they have been capture by frost. Just like you would see in the corners of a window in the winter. They look cold and def from the arctic region. I am all about trying new ways/techniques of painting. This method will serve you at some point and you will k ow how to do it. A little gem to add to your skills collection! 😀

I like the waterfalls and the sky most. Good job.

Thank you Nancy and Tom!
