Red Sunset

Red Sunset - s9e3

The sky is what attracted me to attempt this painting. I decided to leave the foreground more sparse than Bob's version as I did not feel confident that I could crowd the entire foreground with shrubs and make it look convincing. I like just about everything about this painting (for a change, as you know by now I am my harshest critic).

If I ever paint this one again, I would make the sky with a bit larger area of red, and add a bit more foreground foliage.

The photo is a bit darker than the actual painting. As usual photo does not do the painting justice. 16" x 20" canvas. As always, your comments (especially suggestions) are desired and welcome.

Really beautiful! Love your sky and the rest of your details!

beautiful sky, awesome job. I think the amount of red in the sky is just right.

Very nice and good idea!

Funny enough, the foreground is my favorite part!

Thank You Sandy, Jeff, Brian, and Bob. I am just getting ready to double prime twelve 18"x24" and ten 16"x20" canvases as we speak :)

Tony this is spectacular! My favorite part is the red fire bushes.

Very pretty Tony.

Thanks Bob and Tomi

Thanks Dirk!

The sky is spectacular and the red foreground bushes pull your eyes away from the sky without detracting from it. It is soothing to the eyes all around! A beautiful work.
