I really messed up the back of the lake together with the background and I am gonna remove the whole treeline part. But I am not sure whats the best way to fix that. Should i extend the mountains?

If I can offer my 2 cents, try to make sure any brush strokes across the water are straight horizontal. overall this is good work!
2 very good suggestions. I would not extend the mountain range - they are just right.
