Falls in the Glen

TheLandscapePainter 13 Apr 2024

Another bright one on black canvas. I didn't get as much depth as I wanted. First time doing push up evergreens and I think I prefer them. I regret not putting another one on the right hand side.

EDIT: I've added a pic below with a couple more trees, thanks Dave! Also added a rock and reworked the grassy area, as I decided it was starting to look a bit muddy. Wish I'd left that bit alone coz I'm not good making alterations. Oh well, its one heck of learning curve this painting malarky.

Beautiful painting TLP. It could do with another couple of green push-ups on the RHS - I think Bob always said make the an odd number with variable heights; so maybe 1 larger tree near the margin and maybe a smaller to the right of the background waterfall. Be a devil and add to it. Cheers

Thanks Dave, I will do that!

love these falls,great colors!cheers,P

Thank you Pietro.

Beautiful work and the red in the rocks looks really nice!

Thank you Cronenberg. I thought it made sense as the sky is also quite red. Whenever I paint now I make an effort to use a colour more than once in the same painting.

Oh my! This is just so beautiful my friend! The red on your rocks, reflecting the sky colors are just superb! Well done!

Thank you Ninoum, I'm trying different things as I've realised that if you don't everything stays the same.
