I wanted to create a peaceful winter landscape with a soft, dreamy atmosphere. The limited color palette was an interesting challenge, but I love how the shades of purple and pink bring a unique mood to the scene.
The trees were particularly fun to paint, though getting the snow to look natural on the branches took some practice. The cabin was another challenge—I wanted it to feel cozy and realistic while blending harmoniously with the background.
I used water-mixable oil paints, which made the process more enjoyable and easier to clean up. My tip for other painters would be to take your time with layering and highlights, as they really bring the painting to life
