Home in the Valley

joha59 10 Apr 2025

A very nice and quit scene and not too difficult to paint, in stead of a shed I put in a little chimney, more useful if the weather is still a bit cold, so you can also rent the house for a while in spring if you want and take a walk in the hills and gather some wood to burn inside the cozy house, maybe you can use the left over truncs in front, better not use parts of the fence for that, it's meant to keep the children (if there are) near and wild animals (sure there are) away from the house! I liked to leave a small border around the canvas, on canvaspanel of 30 x 24 cm.

Wonderful scene and cabin is great!

Feels like the beggining of spring! The white highlights on the ground look like little flowers blooming far away (I've been actually thinking on how to achieve that, here's a top example!)

The cabin is amazing Jos, love the color on it too! You did amazingly well on this one! And I like the borders too! Love this one!

Thank you Dirk, Sandy and Eduardo, I forgot to write that the highlight on the hill looks like white flowers; it was a happy accident to be honest!

Very well done Jos. I watched the episode yesterday. ✌️

Thank you Brian, you want to paint it again?

Great job, Jos! I especially like the highlighting on the trees and foliage.

Thank you Jon! I used a bit more indian yellow for the highlights. so a bit to the orange, I like that color against the dark blue color of the water.

Wonderful job joha59; I love how the softness of your background contrasts with the sharpness of your work in the midground & foreground. Your cozy cabin is so well done; I'd like to make a reservation there please! :)

Thank you Kerri for your kind words and I liked that contrast too, you're welcome in the house!
