Glacier Lake

KerriG 10 Aug 2025

This is a hybrid version on a 16x20 canvas, combining the tutorials of Bob & Paul Ranson. I was initially drawn to the huge glacial mountain & knew I had to give it a try!
I thought the waterfall would be the most challenging, but it was actually the foreground trees/bushes/grasses. I think I need to add some sticks to the shrubs to tone them down and/or add a third, tiny shrub further back to the right of the current ones....
I painted this over a few weekends, having to reapply liquid clear to the dry areas. Wish I could finish it all in one sitting, as I think the paint would flow better vs. having to re-wet the canvas. However, I've discovered I'm more of a slow and steady painter :-D Would love to try this one again, but set it in a different season.

Love your version.

The fall is great, even as the rocks, snow and trees!
