This is only the second painting in oils I have attempted . 12x16 canvas, about 5 hours. I still cannot manage to manipulate the pallet knife; had to revert to brushes except for the water lines. Also, I started this before I realized I did not have a round brush - whoops! Made do with a large filbert, a 1 in, and a fan. If anyone has any tips for adding light colored highlights without picking up the dark color behind on your brush and smudging it everywhere, I would appreciate it. I tried paint thinner, I tried everything Bob suggests for that kind of thing. in the end I just had to keep gobbing more and more on, and I feel like I wasted a lot of paint.
I don't use Bob Ross material it isn't available where I am unless you want to pay an arm and a leg to order it. I use gamblin oils and the brushes that are available at my local art store.
Really nice work!

First of all nice version that you painted as a second I can only say to use other equipment It does not always have to be BR material. There are other super fine brushes and also knives that are simply thinner and more flexible. Dilute the color extremely is already the right way or let it dry and then set the highlights.
