Absolutely Autumn

dracula 15 Sep 2019

I'm surprised to find that my favorite part of this painting turned out to be the hill/mountain in the distance. I used the round brush for the foreground foliage. It will take some practice to figure out the best way to use it.

Foliage looks great! but your luminous quality to your art makes you stand out. Great textures everywhere.

Thank you, that's very nice of you to say. I do try to keep an accounting of the light as I come forward in the paintings.

I don't know how else to describe what I'm thinking, but the best way I can describe it is that there is a very calm, hazy, old "European" feel to your artwork. Bob used a lot of bright and vivid colors, but I like how yours are more muted and "natural." From far away, I bet this painting looks like a picture. Great job as always.

Fully agree with what you saying, lightsnow! All dracula works have this amazing classical art feel ( like Dutch painters of 18th century). I love it!

I really appreciate the richness of colour in your trees here. And those clouds!
