Open to feedback, as I’m just learning. (This is my second attempt with oils.) Water is hard. I get the concept of “thin paint sticks to thick paint” but it’s hard in practice. Struggling to keep colors from getting muddy. Not sure if my initial layer of color was too thick. 😅
Or too much liquid clear if using a black canvas. Brush it on, scrub it in, then wipe off the excess.
I think watching this video is always a good idea for beginners choosing which Bob Ross pictures to try painting-

It lists the ten easiest ones and explains why.
Thanks! This one was tricky because there was no liquid clear or liquid white, he just said to cover the canvas in a thin layer of sap green and pthalo blue. I’ll remember that I can wipe some off moving forward, I think that might help.
Thanks for posting that link Regan. I watched that and then the 10 hardest bob ross paintings, very entertaining!
Great second attempt, it's important to remember that when painting water, just as painting grass, that the shade is just as important as the light. There is some lovely dark areas in the foreground water 👍

Sometimes it's too much liquid white. Try to think of it as damp on damp instead of wet on wet for your first layers then wet for the highlights but with a gentle touch - touch then leave it, don't keep going over the same bit. Your first layer of colour only really needs to stain the canvas it doesn't need to be very thick or very wet. It takes practice, you'll get there👍
