11" x 14" oil on canvas. My initial plan to avoid the oval was to tape off with masking tape, paint, and remove. Which seemed like a good idea until I removed the 7/8"-thick tape and the result screamed at me. Black for most of the border helped, but I plan to re-do this beauty without one. Too often, I learn the hard way!

The painting is lovely! Experimenting can add risk, but is part of the fun. I like the bordering just fine, adds a different feel.
