This is one of those Bob Ross paintings where I really should have watched the television episode. I have a feeling he had certain techniques or an order of operations that would have made things easier and better.

So what Bob did for this one if I remember right is he underpainted some of this with black and white gesso and then added the oils? But I am not 100% sure I haven't seen this episode in a while
Having said that this is very lovely painting and actually more realistic than his so you did an excellent job!
