Secluded Beach

Chris Monk 31 Dec 2019

I painted this in November 2019. This is my 11th painting. It was done oil on paper 12" X 18" - Strathmore # 400 paper. I had a bit of trouble in the middle ground area after using masking tape on the horizon and painting fairly heavily around the tape. I forgot that Bob wasn't using paper. When I removed the tape it destroyed a large portion of the paper in the midground area. I was already 8 hours in, so I just painted over the rageddy mess and carried on. It's hardly noticable here. I hope ya'll like this. Please let me know your thoughts!

Your sky is so real that for a moment I thought that paper was smoking! VERY nice painting with strong details (waves!) and adorable colouring. WAW!

Storm... wonderful painting! Colors selection is amazing. Time you spent is very good investment! I like that idea to use special paper for oil painting, it helps with storage. I want to research it.
The stones look wet and slippery, waves are huge, it is wonderful! Would you present it to me? If dont plan to keep it...

Thanks for the kind words ya'll. You're both very kind. Sunnylady, I'm not sure what you mean by "present" it to you. The original is staying on my wall, that's for sure. You are welcome to screenshot this one or I can email you the original photo if you like. Thanks again for you encouraging words!

It is wonderful seascape. Certainly I would put an original on my wall. Thank you for suggesting a photo. I normally do not like prints. I'll be checking it from the screen and thinking about the brushstrokes and the energy of the stormy seas. I totally love it!

This makes me want to keep practicing so I can eventually produce effects like this. Simply outstanding.

Thanks, everyone for your encouragement!

I absolutely love this, the sky is perfect and the water looks really wind driven at the wave peaks! Gorgeous colors too!
