Winter's Grace

Voy Kay 07 Jan 2020

I had a bad day, personal wise, and really was quite a bit down in the early afternoon. I had the choice to some outdoors work or a Bob Ross painting. Well, guess what, my choice was the latter and set up my paintspot for my 21st painting 'Bob Ross style', 4 different paint colours and five brushes. 90 minutes later ... I ended up about the most relaxed I've been in a long while. What a therapy was this painting! It was not difficult at all and Bob was never in a rush, as he can sometimes be. So this painting REALLY was an excellent choice. The result? The sky and the hills were easy, had some troubles with the river bed but was able to smooth that out. The evergreens went well and even the highlights never gave me a rough time although I painted waaaaay too many again. To tell you the truth, I was a bit saddened that I had finished! Please try this one, a very smooth painting to do!

Over a month without comments …. guess this was indeed a poor painting after all but Bob's fault … I followed him all the way!

This is a lovely take on this painting - I'm especially jealous of how distant you made the hills in the back seem!

Thank you Mikniks, a nice comment on a forgotten painting!
This was made days/weeks before I actually learned how to paint evergreens cause they are really not standing out at all. The sky blending and hills are easy to do, the icy river up front is the real though one here!
