I loved painting the sky in this picture, it was a lot of fun playing with the sunset colors. This was my second painting, I definitely feel like my mountains have improved a bit.

Thank you Sunnylady! I had not realized the different shape of my evergreens until you pointed that out. Upon looking back I think I like the ones on the left a little more. They seem to have a less rounded overall shape compared to those on the right.
I like left side more too. I think they have more variety in shapes than the ones from the right side.
The peach color of the lower sky contrasts perfectly with the gray, foreboding clouds above. That, plus the dark foreground give the painting a very appealing atmosphere. Great work!

Wonderful success for the second painting! Mountains look great: there are dark shadows and highlights are toned down very well! Evergreens on the left are different from ones on the right. Which ones do you like more? Very well done!
