moved the barn over to the right, pleased with the wooden frame effect
Thankyou Landscape....all good points, i'm always happy to learn. Painting is still relatively new to me and i feel i have received a lot of helpful advice here on two inch brush
I love this. what a neat way to paint. Gonna give this a try.
The wood grain really does set it off. Iām curious how you achieved the wood grain effect without disturbing the painting. š§
dry canvas, black underpaint allow to dry and (i think) dark sienna with a light touch
I see it now. I thought it was various shades of brown. Thank you for the tip, I really like this rustic look.

I've never really liked Bob's Triple View but didn't quite know why until now. Bob's painting just looks like one picture cut into three sections, but yours really does give the impression that you are looking through a window which makes it far more interesting. Painting the frame in wood-grain is a clever idea and it has turned out really well. Tip: if you use a lighter colour and a soft touch on your distant mountain it pushes it further back. I love the way you do your grass, and that's a great barn!
