Mountain Lake

I really enjoyed painting this one and I think it turned out pretty good. I really focused on the parts that have been giving me the most trouble recently. To start, that meant making sure that my sky and water met at the horizon and keeping the white space in the middle to a minimum.
The way I mixed the paints and loaded my brushes was another area where I put in extra effort. Mixing liquid white with colors to add highlight layers has given me problems before, so to avoid white splotches I really mixed well. My pine trees in other paintings have been more squat and wide than I think looks realistic. I pulled the brushes through the paint more deliberately to for a sharper point. I think that helped keep the trees thinner and more realistic.
This is far from perfect but after the last painting it looks amazing.
