Emerald Waters

lightsnow 18 May 2020

Painting #51. This is the first black canvas painting I create on a canvas I primed with actual black gesso rather than painting it in black acrylic. I wanted to try a black canvas painting that seemed a bit easier so I went with this one. Overall, it was fun but I was trying to follow Bob a bit too much and I find that I could have paid more attention to the contrast if I wasn't following along. Some of those trees on the edge of the water could have used a bit of dark under color to pop out more. Overall, a pleasant painting. I also tried a new method of adding highlights to the tree on the right and I think it worked out alright. 18x24

This was not an easy one for me and you've really nailed it! I really like the blurry background trees while the foreground trees are in focus and clear. Shoreline design creates excellent distance. BR would be very proud.

This is a great version of Emerald Waters. You've got good color distinction between the different foliage types including a nice balance of depth and detail. Well done!

Really nicely done. I like that tree on the right too.

Great work ! This episode is very popular one .
My friend CRI used Phthalo green instead of Sap green. I think it was an good idea..

Wow! Nailed it!

Honestly, I don't know why everyone seems to want to paint this one, but YOUR version is really great. I like it a lot. You did a beautiful job. Love the tree. The bright green reflections are the icing on the cake. Beautifully done!!
