The Footbridge

hendrix 04 Oct 2020

I made my bridge a bit longer because of a bigger canvas (60x80 cm / 24x30 inch). Great painting to practice evergreens. I tried Bob's way for creating the path but failed miserably so I did it the old-fashioned way using a fan brush. I like the rocks on the riverbank, didn't know it would turn out this way when I was painting it. There are some other happy accidents but the end result is pretty decent.

Longer bridge and wider river really works here! Sky is great above the whole scenery!

Yes I would be happy with that! Love the bridge. You've made more of a feature of it. Think I might try a bridge next. The last footpath I did with the filbert, just rocked it side to side. With this method you can create a slight dip in it so it looks well trodden, and sloping slightly upward at the sides. Your path does look very good though, nice colours. And I like the water lines around the bridge posts.

Works for me.. I agree with TLP.. the bridge is a cool focus point. Great skies
