Babbling Brook

ForestVueGallery 12 Oct 2020

I decided to try painting on a sanded live edge slice of cedar that’s 22” long. It’s primed with a coat of clear gesso and it seemed a bit rougher then canvas so I used old brushes. Painting on wood isn’t too different from canvas other then no spring so I didn’t attempt to use a knife. I like the variances in color that the wood delivers. Look forward to painting more.

I love you managed to work the form of the slice into your terrain, a really cool idea!

Excellnt idea! Gives it a certain 3-dimensional touch!

Very creative!

Thank you all! I just let come what may with it. I like the old timey look it has which didn’t capture well in the photo.

Super cool idea

Thanks Jeremiah, it was an experiment that turned out well.
