Snowy Solitude

ForestVueGallery 21 Nov 2020

It was relaxing to paint this peaceful place. I painted from a still shot at the end of the video. It has a softness to it that I like. It refused to be photographed correctly.

Gorgeous depth created, that snow field hardly wants to end!
LOVE those footsteps!!!!!

Super calm and cold and beautiful!
Trees are so nicely done!

Thank you VK and SL. 😊 It was easy and enjoyable.

Love the little footprints in the snow!

Thank you! I like to include some sign of life outside of trees where possible.

I love this...I have the winter edition of his series in DVD. After watching Chapman I think I will try to put in deer tracks or something. You are an awesome painter, I truly enjoy looking at your talent!!! Thank you for sharing

Thank you for your kind words Toadi. Painting wasn’t something I gave much thought to just 2 years ago. I’d painted my first, that I’ve not posted here, 🙈 at the one Ross class I attended. Like you, I purchased all of the supplies and sat down at my new easel for the moment of truth. Had I known to give my canvas two coats of gesso beforehand things would have gone more smoothly 😂.
Over the months I now have it all down to a clean operation and continue to learn with each painting.
There’s nothing wrong with those corn fields, I spent my early years in central IL and know them well.
I look forward to seeing your creations!

Beautiful snowy sky and I love the frozen water.
