Pastel Seascape

ForestVueGallery 19 Jun 2019

I enjoyed this one and learned a lot. I used ScotchBlue 1.41” tape to create a white border. Ross oils on a 16 x 20 canvas. I finally made friends with my Ross blender brush and it made a huge difference in ease of blending.

Your waves remind me of lace. I love them.

Thank you. I’ve found ocean scenes challenging but I decided to keep at it. 😉

I've actually never tried an ocean painting. Do you have any tips for a first try?

This is my forth ocean wave attempt and it gets a little easier with each one. My first was “Ocean Sunset” and I really struggled with it. I found this one easier being it is portrait and the wave is smaller. I make sure not to get the horizon line too high and pay attention to the angle of the waves. The corner of the small fan works well for the foam with some practice. Give it a try.

Gorgeous!

Thank you 😊 I love working with the pastel colors.
