My second attempt at painting. Not able to achieve any depth to the sky. Also Had to scrap the rock in the bottom right. Please comment with advice. Glad to join the community and think I could learn to love this!

No worries, like many of us, you will get hooked on painting and this community!
I stand by the advice of Umagaan. Also keeping in mind that sea sceneries are generally never easy.

I really like your big wave. Perhaps you could paint a few more lines with liner brush and really make the vawe look a bit more rounded.
With the sky I think the background colors are great and beautifully blended. Try adding the clouds more slowly, one after the other, with just a little bit of paint and carefully blending each one. And before you paint the next cloud step a few steps back and think about where the next one should be, how big it should be etc. And start small, it's easy to add more paint, but once there's too much on the canvas it's difficult.
