Golden Sunset

LoriEC 20 Jan 2021

Had to try this one again. I’m much happy with the outcome. Still didn’t get my bright spot as yellow as I hoped but overall I think this is much better than my first attempt.

I think you might have had not enough titanium white. May be you used some zink white?
What happens here that transparent color overrules non transparent and black canvas looks through.
You can mix white and Indian yellow on pallet and apply in the brightest spot.

The good thing that you have here - your trees stand out with yellow highlights because the sky is modest. If you do sky very bright, you will probably need to rethink the trees.

Beautiful!!!

I think your snow is beautiful, so soft. The grassy areas on the left are great, mine always turn into a mud mixer 🤔

Thank you all for your comments. I had too much crimson in my first attempt so I tried to go easier with that. I did use liquid clear on this one so my colors were easier to blend but I think I over blended the sky area. I'll have to try mixing the indian yellow and titanium white idea and see if that helps me. Sure appreciate the advise.

Great job! I love your snow and how you layered in a bush with snow behind it on the right. Your pulled shadows in the grassy areas are really well done. Your snow is excellent, too!

Beautifully done. The colors work so well together, and the tree highlights and reflection are great!

Thanks! The bush with the snow behind it was actually one of those happy little accidents.

Thank you, ForestVueGallery. I so appreciate your kind words.
