Florida's Glory

moai 29 Jan 2021

Painted on a 20 x 16 canvas. I cut out a sun shape out of contact paper after painting the canvas pink with some craft paint. Since Florida is the Sunshine State the sun makes sense to me and is easier than the shape of the state. I used some gold in some of the leaves and palms for some sparkle.

I like it - nice job!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Very nicely done and such irginal idea to use a sun for this. The three colours in the water give a great contrast to each other.

Reminds me that there are two episodes where a saw blade is painted. I will try to get my hands on one and have a go at those.

The saw blade might be one of the last paintings, except for a view from the park, and the portraits. I did not mean for the cut out to look like a saw blade. I was trying to get a sun shape that I could use with the circle placemat I have and most that I saw would have caused the suns rays to be off the canvas which might look sttrange.
