Country Life

I_McCann_paint85 04 Feb 2021

I backlit my painting for the photo so as to give it a bright, sunny day look. The lighted areas on my barn are a result of the paint being slightly thinner in those areas which allows the light to pass through. It reminds me of the way old barns look when the sun comes from behind and peeks through the cracks.

-3rd Joy of Painting piece-
Painted on a 18 x 24 inch, 3/4" profile, heavy-weight 12oz stretched canvas pre-primed with acid-free gesso.

VERY cool!

Thanks, Boof. I appreciate the compliment.

Ohh I like this, the mood lighting works a treat 👍

Nivek1971, thanks. The idea was somewhat of an accident. I had moved my clamp-lights onto the backside of my easel after I finished the painting so as they were out of the way and I just happen to switch the power-strip on so I could find something on the dark shelf behind the easel and viola!
