Evening Waterfall

KJ 12 Feb 2021

This is my acrylic version of Evening Waterfall. I really enjoyed this one. The sky was very difficult to emulate with acrylics, but I like the result I was able to achieve. Also, waterfalls are much easier with oils! This one has a lot of elements to practice your technique! These are Liquitex acrylics on a 16 X 20 canvas.

Looks great!!

Lovely effect of dappled light on the grassy areas - it transforms the scene.

Thanks Martha!

KJ how did you do the background in acrylic?
I see phthalo green, white, blue

I wish I could tell you paintcrazy. It's been awhile since I did this one. I have the same background on Cabin in the woods. I started with a black canvas and used different mixtures of probably phtalo blue and white and ? some kind of green! Sorry I can't be more helpful. But honestly whatever colors Bob used I would have used along with white. A difficult background to re-create in acrylic but I guess that's the fun part! Enjoy your painting!
