Autumn Mountain

Umagaan 18 Feb 2021

This painting was on my to-paint list for quite some time now. I was a bit afraid of the clouds, but I finally gathered the courage and painted it. All in all it was quite fun, I love the colors of the sky, I really liked painting the mountains and I think I finally got the hang of painting the clouds. I think the hills should be a bit more greenish. The big tree was a bit of a challenge, I put too much alizarin crimson in the background color so it's not really dark enough. Maybe the shoreline on the left should be a bit lower to create more contrast to the middle part. Loved painting the leafless tree.
All in all I'm happy with the result, and the painting already has a reserved space in my living room.

The branches on the leadless tree are incredibly nicely done! You are a master of a liner brush!

The depth on the green bushes on the right is really good! So is everything else...

Incredible mountains!

Sunnylady thank you šŸ˜ Lately I spent quite some time practicing painting trees so I guess it paid off šŸ˜

jeremiah11719 thanks šŸ˜Š The background color for these bushes was very dark and I tried to really think about individual plants, their shape and color, which one is in front etc. And I think it's really important not to kill all the dark areas.

joha59 thank you šŸ˜ I tried to put a bit more details in them to give them more depth and I'm really happy with the result šŸ‘

I agree - that leafless tree is perfection and your bushes have such depth and detail! A beautiful piece of work.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Amongst your best mountains yet! And such great mist and clouds around them!
Following other comments where indeed your right bushes look so alive one can smell them!
Superb creation Umagaan!

The mountains look great. I loved the bushes and the dry tree. I congratulate.

This is stunning. I can only wish Iā€™d be half as good as your are
