Give it a try first on some hard paper or cardboard if your like. It is not really that difficult and you might also opt to use a small brush iso a knife (which is less easy).
Trying first on paper definitely helped me with bare trees so maybe that's also the way to go with painting people. I will try that, thank you!
This is one of my favorite Campfire recreations. I love your muted pallette, and your water line turned out nicely.
