Bob said this was easy especially if you had never painted before but i found this one to be difficult, especially painting branches on trees w/ gesso, it dries sooo quick & i struggled with the sun rays, they kept turning green

It turned out really well. I don't think it matters if the sunrays pick up a little colour but to keep them white you have to wipe your brush off and reload with each stroke. Also, this tip might help you if you still have a problem, it is possible to add your white sunrays when your painting has dried, that way they won't pick up any of the colour underneath and also if you make a mistake you can rub it off and do it again because your paint is dry underneath. On my painting of "sunny morning" I let the painting dry out for a few hours before adding the sun rays which wasn't long enough really, the paint was tacky so the effect is they are not as diffused as I expected.
