Several breakthroughs today. Was pleased with my fan brush clouds (at last!), and the evergreens, for the most part. Still trying to learn how to paint the perfect “crooked” evergreen that doesn’t look like it’s going to topple over. Very pleased with how the distant trees and foothills added to the depth here, as well as the effect of the mountain area clouds.
Highlighting the mountains was a struggle, and I have yet to get the bushes to really come together as I’d like. Made an attempt to create some speckled pink granite on the right and mostly struck out but glad I tried it. Still really liked this painting.
