Desert Glow

Umagaan 07 Jul 2021

Well this wasn't as easy as it seemed. I don't like portrait orientation in paintings so I tried to rearrange the composition. I fiddled to death with the sky. The rock on the right didn't want to come together. I had trouble with the cliffs. I had to mix my brown color like five times because I kept running out of it. I don't really like the cactus. Love the distant mountains. Painting all the twigs and stones and grass was really fun. I like the colors of the sky. All in all I loved painting this.

One great painting Umagaan! The distance created is superb and I'm very fond of your sand colours!!

Sounds like a great learning experience and it turned out well in the end. Great depth and a feeling that the path leads to nothing. I expect to see a sun bleached skull just around the bend :)

Oooh, wonderful this. Little bit creepy.

Thanks everyone 😁
@rah I'm actually thinking of adding a skull somewhere in the foreground 🤔

Looks sooo good
