Storm on the Horizon

rock_lobsterrr85 01 Aug 2021

This ones another rehauled thrift store painting- I was looking through episodes, and remembered this one where Bob uses a specifically wide canvas. To be honest, I went a little bit out of my comfort zone with deciding to take another stab at a seascape. I could definitely tell a difference between the first one I tried months ago and this one, I think due to having better physical control with the little brushes just due to experience over time. This one was honestly really simple compared to what I normally do lol, but I did end up spending more time on the finer details as a result. Also, side note: any further seascape I do will probably not be a tropical one because man, palm trees are hard as hell!

Seascapes are an entirely different deal, I’ve found. Palm trees are hard for me too :P I love your composition, the wide canvas makes seascapes really pop, I would see that in a bathroom or in a work office, to look at and escape life a few seconds. Pretty!
