Tranquil Seas

Mgiese84 04 Aug 2021

I decided on my seashell cutout over the oval. And also using the black canvas versus the normal white. I really do love these colorful seascapes. Certainly will brighten up a dull room.

This is absolutely stunning. Your control over the script liner brush in those tiny little details of the wave and ripples of water. Very well done!

Thx Rocky!

Also brighten up a dull day. This is wonderful.

Beautiful. I just love your seascapes. Love the bright colors and all the details. How do you paint your foam? I really could use some tips ;)

Thanks to you both. U, are you referring to the foam on the sand or in the wave itself?

The foam on the big wave.

I usually put the dark color (I pretty much use a dark lavender every time) in with a filbert brush. For the highlights I use a #3 fan brush and turn it sideways and push upwards. Sometimes I'll take the very tip of the fan brush and tap straight on at the very ends of the foam. I think it helps give a little bit better splash appearance. Bob uses the filbert most times to put his foam in but I just could never get the correct appearance using the filbert. Hope this all makes some sense.

Thanks for the tip. I usually use filbert but I think my foam is too thick. I'll try fanbrush next time 😁
