Winter Night

Emchop 15 Aug 2021

So wanted to do a good job on this one as it is my favourite Bob image. The dual loaded trees I found virtually impossible so had to rescue as best I could. Messed about with the snow adding bushes and a path to break it up a bit. I really like the sky… A little disappointed - if anyone has any thoughts/advice before it dries…

Reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe. Really like the cabin.

I know it’s already dry by now but I like it. Actually I had a question for you. My friend wants me to paint this one for him. I’ve been kinda leery about the liquid black because last time I used it it absorbed too much of what I tried to add. So everything was super dark and hard to blend. Do you have any tips on that?

I put the liquid black on very sparingly and if I was to do this one again, I think I’d use a paper towel and rub off the bottom part a bit before adding the snow. I know the snow shouldn’t be bright white but I felt mine mixed and greyed a little too much. It’s fun to do though so look forward to seeing your version.
