Purple Haze

dracula 24 Oct 2021

I'm not sure what I expected with this one, but I had kind of hoped to cut loose a bit more. Either way, I enjoyed mixing up the unusual colors!

I also think I should consider going back to higher-quality canvases at some point here.

It looks nice and colorful, almost mystical (if I'm using that word correctly). 👍

Did you put any dark down first before doing the foliage on the trees? I can't tell.

Very beautiful! Love your trees and bushes!

Wow. Fantastic as always. The water, leaves, and grassy banks are my favorite and I love the sky color!

Thank you for the kind words; I really appreciate it and am glad you enjoy the painting.

@Alex_Ander - I did put a mix of Midnight Black and Van Dyke Brown down beneath the foliage., but let it mix with whatever was on the brush at the time so it's not too dark. I don't really clean my brushes that often as I'm painting, though I tend do to use a lot of brushes as I go.

That is really gorgeous, I love your version of Purple Haze!

Thanks, dracula. When I expanded the picture, I could make out some dark. Been wondering if it was possible to just use the dark background instead of adding another layer of paint. So, I just thought that's what you had done.
