The masking went a lot better this time- I "sealed" the edges of the tape with a few thin coats of white gesso, which made for very crisp lines.
Bushes are still giving me trouble- I think the issue is the paint that I use for the dark base color is too thin and I'm just mixing mud. I'll try absorbing excess oil using cardboard next time and see what happens.

Bushes are difficult. Very lite touch works for me. And a lite push up or side.
