Original Creation

Australian gum trees.

Barbara 28 Jan 2022

This is painted in water soluble oils. As you can imagine, I used lots of Bob Ross techniques. I did it as a practice piece as I want to paint a similar picture as a gift for someone. As usual, the process taught me heaps. I made a border with masking tape and quite like the effect.

Border and gum trees are gems!

Can't recall gum trees anymore from my visit to Perth, some 19 years ago. I need to browse my photo souvenirs again from that time and region! 😄😋😉😊

Your gum trees look stunning and so realistic. I also like the way you have muted the distant scenery to only focus on the trees and the adjacent body of water. Well done.

Lovely mist and impressionistic look! The trees are very obvious not some usual trees and look great and realistic with sky-holes in leaves.

Thanks, Voy Kay, DaveJ and Sunnylady! I appreciate your feedback.

I too use these paints and I am glad that I made the transition from traditional oils. I love this painting so much and I look forward to seeing more from you.

Thanks, Antonia! Much appreciated.
