Emperor Penguins are the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species, are endemic to Antartica and the only species to breed during the Antarctic winter. The other grandson of the NZ travelling offspring this winter (ref to Kea painting) has always been captivated by them - especially the Emperor Penguin. So I also painted for him, this penguin family for a Christmas present. I love penguins! Adorable. The expressions of each one reads so clearly, I can almost feel their personalities. I half expect them to start moving while I'm staring at this :D
