Thank you Terry, this was a good exercise for improving the balance between the 2. The painting process certainly isn't BR timing and it is not for the time constrained. Michael's recording of his painting and explanation varies between 2 to 24 hours, averaging about 10 hrs. I don't record my time but I would guesstimate I would spend 2-3-4 times the length of his recording. But I am retired and can devote as much time as I want to get a painting finished to the level I want. It is getting easier as I learn and practice his techniques. Hope that helps. Cheers

Excellent awareness of light and shade, may i ask how many hours (on average) does it take to complete a painting based on MJS technique?
