Arapaima Spot - Practice - DN

Dirk1968 07 Mar 2024

I wasn't really sure if this study should upload from my idea, to paint a perfect fishing spot but I thought you could decide for yourself if you like it. It's painted a little rougher than usual, but it had to be enough for this implementation. This is oil on very simple copy paper.. no liquids and no background paint. Simply white. I just wanted to try the idea before I paint it on canvas and try another technique for the background. The other story was whether I am able to paint an arapaima that looks good. I've always been fascinated by this big ,sensational ,freshwater predatory fish.As I know, the biggest ever. That is now the result of my idea of the perfect fishing spot .As always fresh from 30 minutes ago.
Copy paper, DIN A4 ( 21 x 29,7 cm ) oils, time 3 hours

This is cool Dirk. I like it a lot. Good job

Hey Cold , Good evening from germany . Glad you like it. Wanted to try it in advance. The correct version will come soon πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

I love this scene! The different green tones are lovely and it reminds me of a scene coming from the south, a swamp vibe. That predator is def the star of this compo even tho it’s not right in your face. Super work my friend! πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Hey my friend, thank you so much and im glad you like it . It's still quite rough but on canvas I'll work it out more, I hope I have the time soon πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

I love it! Reminds me of Monet in a swamp

Hey Felix, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the great comment. I'll paint it on the canvas these days πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

I love hearing the creative thoughts artists have as they paint. Sort of behind the scenes of the painting. Very cool Dirk and I love the fishing spot! :)

Good evening from germany,Daniel . I am fascinated by fly fishing and extreme fishing in special places on super fish. I've seen so many documentaries and thought why not try to portray it as a painting. I'm trying to make the presentation even more precise, so only copy paper but soon on canvas. Thank you very much for your support and commentsπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Reminds me on some Bill Alexander scene.

Thank you for your comment. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ή
