Original Creation

At the Falls

ForestVueGallery 22 Dec 2021

This is inspired by a Jerry Yarnell practice piece on waterfall construction. I learned a lot and will probably try again. Iā€™m still learning acrylic color mixes. Some details I finished with oils. 16x20

Really a beautiful job! Love the rocks and the way the water dances off them!

Very nice! Great looking waterfalls and the splash at the bottom is perfect!

Lovely job šŸ‘šŸ‘

Those are some cool rocks. Or, should I say...your rocks 'rock!?' šŸ™‚ Nice painting.

Great job, well done. If you try it again as you suggest you might, give a bit of thought about increasing the size and extent of the right hand head rock to improve its stability and capture the flow in the centre; especially in high flow spring and summer thaw. Just a comment.

The dead tree and the waterfall are just gems!!

Bravo FVG, this is wonderful!

Thanks to all for your kind comments! DaveJ, thanks, I definitely see that adjustment in a future painting. Voy, I really liked the downed tree effect too and hoped it would add depth to the scene with its size. Alexander the rocks required the greatest amount of time discovering them from among the haphazard under painting. Merry Christmas!!

Reminds me of pacific northwest
I can smell the spray of the waterfall
