Original Creation

Spring Flowering Trees

Midnite Painter 19 Oct 2022

18x24, Based on you tube video by Kevin Hill, not having the full tutorial leaves a lot of gaps to fill in on my own and made this a fun challenge.

Just Gorgeous! Love everything about this and your depth created is terrific! Love the shadows created and the perspective is spot on!

stunning, next-level work! this is my favorite one of yours in recent memory. Was this piece a particularly long process, or on par with what's normal for you?

This is sooo good! I love the light is this and the vibrance of the blossums is rich. Nice work!!

Wow!

Outstanding! Love the trees, fence, and shadows on the path.

Thank you for the kind words! @Jeffth I work very slow, I started this 10 days ago, the trees are time consuming, used a small filbert for every leaf.

Masterpiece!!! Gorgeous!

Thank you for the answer Midnite. I've been very tempted to buy a Kevin Hill tutorial, but I work very slowly and Bob's tutorials already take me a few days. One of the things I find challenging about working slower is starting again after it's dried, how do you personally deal with that?

@Jeffth there’s small amount of liq white on top portion only, so I did sky and base mtn color, next day was fairly dry and mountain highlights go on super easy, no mud, could add yellow w/out mixing in the blue. Takes bit of time scrubbing paint on dry parts on bottom, again the highlights do what I want since not oiled up, Bob warns of mud as he’s working, so I avoid the mud this way; keeping it dry kept me in control.
