From Bram Bevins' YouTube tutorial "Simple Night-time Forest".
12"x16" Black canvas. Liquid Clear, Titanium White, Sap Green, Phthalo Blue, Prussian Blue and Midnight Black.
Not at all happy with this one. I really need to figure out how to use the script liner. It is holding my trees back big time. They ended up thicker than they were supposed to be and I had to cover more of them in foliage than I was supposed to. I think I also tried to paint it on too small a canvas. Bram's tutorial was painted on an 18"x24" and it was a recreation of an original that was even bigger.
I really love the original, so this is definitely one to try again once I improve. I'd like to take Bram's suggestion from the video and find a way to add in a shining white stag to make this the scene from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry summons his Patronus.
Nice work ππΌπ©πͺ
Thanks.
I'm looking to do this one soon! Yours is really nice! I am struggling with the liner brush too, i think your branches look nice too!
Thank you. I've seen somebody on YouTube suggest that new oil painters practice with their script liners on canvas pads using cheaper acrylic paints. I think I might have to put in some time doing that before I try anything that uses the liner brush a lot.
