Need ideas….. (not the title) lol

Rucifi 16 Mar 2023

Hey, so I know this needs details I’m kind of going for horses running and kicking up dust. My question is do you guys think I should add color or leave it in black-and-white? Thanks I’ll load when it’s done.

Very striking in black and white but color would be great also!

Hi Rucifi, I agree with Sandy. Your B&W version is very striking and worth pursuing as a keeper in it's own right. It would be worth doing again in colour and having both as a dual display. As an additional thought, I think this B&W would also be brilliant in reverse, ie at night with a bright moon shining on a silver horse in the lead with the moonlight also reflecting off the leaves on a black canvas - just a thought. Cheers

Very nice! I say stay with the black and white. I also love Dave's idea of painting it in reverse.

I would suggest to mute cloud above the horses as it takes attention away from main subject by having a dotted structure and high contrast. Smudging it if it still allows. Or decreasing darkness at least two steps and making it lighter.

I think it can perfectly work as monochromatic painting. If you add some transparent orange made from transparent ochre and alizarin crimson but preserve as much darkness in the horses as possible.

I see this as a great grisaile ( not sure about spelling) for applying colors on top.

Do not add any details anywhere except horses and it will give it swirly motion and speed. Just an idea. Try to upload photo in digital editor and apply some transparent layers to see which one you like and where you want ti change anything if you want to change at all.

WOW! Beautiful Ruci! If you add colors, It should be minimal. This is an amazing start!

Thank you everyone for the advice and ideas you are all awesome 😎
