This was the first time for me to recreate a Bob Ross Painting. It was a Valentines Day activity with my boyfriend and my god did we discover the joy of painting! Learned a lot that afternoon - for example that acrylics are not the most suitable for Bob's wet on wet technique and that accidentally throwing a few oil paints in to the mix can lead to a lot of mess when trying to wash the brushes and palettes afterwards. Many little accidents were made but also many wonderful memories. It also did intrigue us to try out only oils next though to really be able to blend those colours nicely.
You did well. You can use up your acrylics to create under paintings (background) or borders. Let it dry completely though before going in with your oils.
I recommend using separate brushes for acrylic and oils. The binders for the different mediums dont like easch other. But it is okay to do the under layers ib acrylic. Oil goes on top (rule)

Lovely painting! You did the mountain so well, and the shading on the right looks super nice. I can see those banks really glimmer near the sunset! Cannot wait for our next painting adventure!
