Juicy watermelon

Sunnylady 29 Mar 2023

This is a gift to a friend. Hopefully she will like it the way she likes real watermelons.

Process of figuring out colors and set up are attached as additional photos. I did not really follow perspective but had setup to understand colors.

Oil with Liquin. 12*12 inches.

Good evening Sunny , These are great colours, great hit.😎👍🏼

Thank you Dirk! I think I overworked it a bit. Thinking now how to return freshness. Probably big bristle brush will help tomorrow when it is touch dry.

Enjoy your evening!

It looks good enough to eat! Great job!

Looks great Sunnylady. My only suggestion would be a bit more white in the outer layer could help the contrast to bring out more of the red. Well painted. Cheers

Very realistic. The pieces look completely 3D. Your lines are so crisp and the colours perfect.

Looking so real! So well done Sunnylady!

@paintingblondie - thank you so very much! Still lives are not my forte, but they are a lot of fun.

@Barbara , @Dave - thanks! I thought the lines are too crisp and this morning tried to diffuse them a bit with use of zinc white and madder lake and cadmium. Seems it improved the look a bit. I also altered the background and added very dark blue to get it into the game.

@Ninoum - thank you! I am very happy it looks real on the photo. Means real life should be even better (at least I hope so).

Good job

Great work, you captured it beautifully.

@Coldethel,@ForestVue - thank you for your kind words!

To all - I made a new article that was cooking for almost a year. Now it is published with my findings.
